Welcome to Matariki Partnership Matariki Partnership was formed in July 2003. The partnership combines Ahikouka A6B, formed 80 years ago by Sir Apirana Ngata who also established the Ahuwhenua Trophy competition, and the Waiomatatini C Trust which came about when the Department of Maori Affairs returned the land to its owners in 1963. Matariki Partnerships total area covers 3500 ha of which 1417 is effective. The farm is carrying 10,500 stock units and plans are in the pipeline to increase this number to 14,700 stock units by the end of 2012. The farm has four full time staff including the Farm Manager. Gorse and thistle work continues to be a never ending battle and is the sole focus for one of the casual workers. A unique feature of the farm is the 200ha of flats, 100ha of which has been put into triticale, and a mixture of new grasses.
